Alterac Valley - The Battle Rages On 1/8/10
I fought in a bunch of battles for Alterac Valley tonight on Gomorra and a couple on Wranngar. The Alliance wasn't doing too well in there tonight. I had 8 wins and 7 losses on Gomorra and 2 losses on Wranngar.
The major problem is still lack of teamwork. When someone comes up with a plan and the majority agrees to it then that is what the whole team should be doing. Unfortunately that is not the case. If the plan is to Blitz and you have people going after towers, going after Glav (Whom you can get and still Blitz) and basically hanging out in the cave for a couple minutes after the gate goes up, then it's not going to work. Like any plan, it only works if people follow it. The majority of the Alliance players are too stupid to realize that and screw themselves out of a win time and time again. These same idiots that didn't go to Drek for the Blitz are the ones saying later, "I told you it wouldn't work". The Horde don't have any problem doing the Blitz because they work as a team.
An overall lack of experience was also a problem tonight. You can tell some of these people have no clue what they are doing in there. I did have come good groups tonight though. We did win 5 battles in a row before the group thinned out or people went to work, whatever. So the possibility of winning is there, if you have the right people. Unfortunately the right people don't seem to play often enough. Almost all of our losses ended with us turtling in Dun Baldar. A couple of those weren't too bad though, I got A LOT of kills on Gomorra tonight. Those were the ones where the group didn't suck too bad, we were just way outnumbered at the start and couldn't recover. As a caster Gomorra needs to be able to stand behind the front line and cast. As long as there are decent people manning the front line he can do that. In a few of these battles the peoples skill level was so bad the Horde would just run right over the front line and then run right over the casters. Most casters wear cloth, they are not made for melee combat.
Another ongoing problem is the AFK, the problem is really out of control. When you are starting out with the Horde outnumbering you 4 to 1, then 5 of the 10 people there are AFK, you are not going to be able to recover from that. Blizzard needs to get off their ass and do something about this problem. Just saying they are doing something about it isn't good enough. It is obvious, by reporting and AFKing the same people out of the battleground day after day, week after week, that Blizzard is doing nothing about it. Blizzard needs to start taking gear, honor and titles away from these repeat offenders and start laying down some heavy bans. People will continue to do it as long as there are no consequences for doing it. If they were to lose everything and get banned for a month then they would think twice about running bots, which is supposed to be a account termination offense, or just going in and staying in the cave.
