AFK out of control in Battlegrounds 12/3/09

The AFK problem is really getting out of control in the battlegrounds... I DO NOT believe Blizzard is doing anything about this problem regardless of what they say. They can't be doing anything because it is getting worse on a daily basis. There must be a new bot out there people are using that will take you to certain places in the battleground. There were 9 AFK at FWGY in Alterac Valley today. NINE! There was a huge party at FWGY and no one in FW Keep getting the towers. They were all reported AFK and all AFK'd out of the battleground. There are a lot of AFK showing up at Frostwolf Keep too. They get there then stand at the foot of noob hill. They don't fight, they don't get towers and they die as soon as the Horde show up. As you can see in the attached screen shot these losers are getting honor and HK's without doing any damage or healing.

There is another kind of bot too, or maybe it is the same one people are using to get to FWK, it attaches itself to someone and follows them. When I get one of those on me I just stealth and run it through a group of Horde or run it by a Horde GY and let the guards take care of it. Either way, the AFK problem is out of control and it is causing us a lot of losses.

In this one battle we must have AFK'd over 30 people out of the battle by the time it was over. They just kept showing up and we kept reporting them. We won that one on reinforcements, hard to kill Drek when most your team is AFK. The rest of the people were farming HK's at DB.

Wranngar in the Arena 12/2/09

I fought in my first arena battles on Wranngar tonight. I joined Arkantose's 2x2 team and we fought 10 battles.

We didn't do too well but it was my first arena so I am not too discouraged. I fought in a couple arena fights on Gomorra a couple years ago but comparing a Warlock to a Druid is like comparing apples to oranges. We fought in 10 battles and won 1. The team I joined was already established so it had a higher ranking which I think made a difference when we were paired, we were being paired based on that ranking and I believe it will even out once we start getting paired against people with the same level of experience. Same level as mine anyway lol.

I have been thinking about doing arena for awhile on Wranngar but wanted to get better geared. Well now I am as well geared as I am going to get so I guess it is time. I will be updating our progress as I go along.

The Battle for Strand of the Ancients - Daily Battleground 12/2/09

The daily battleground was Strand of the Ancients again today. I fought it on Wranngar and we easily won the first one I was in. I fought in another one later on with Arkantose, so he could get his daily done, and we easily won that one too.

The funny/sickening thing about all these different battlegrounds is I see the same people in there AFK. I just don't understand what kind of lowlife would just take a spot away from someone who could be fighting in all these battlegrounds just so they can get some free gear they don't have to work for. Blizzard says the people who do this get banned, stripped of all their gear and honor and even have their account permanently suspended, but I find that kind of hard to believe when I see the same people doing it day after day, week after week.

Anyway, as I said, we won both of these battles easily. The Horde made it to the yellow gate and destroyed it each time but they didn't destroy the door to the relic room in either battle. We made it all the way to the relic and captured it in both battles. For fighting in a winning daily battleground I completed my daily and got 19g86s and 1241 bonus honor.

The Battle for Alterac Valley - /Sigh... 12/2/09

It is hard to believe it was the same Alliance fighting in Alterac Valley today, after the battles we had in there yesterday. Yesterday we won 23 battles and lost 2. Today we won 14 battles and lost 21... It is just hard to believe the Alliance is so inconsistent in there. I fought all these battles on Wranngar and got a lot of kills but that's where the positive ends.

We did everything wrong, took SHGY at the start and held it like it meant something, didn't defend towers, lost the East and West Frostwolf Towers to the Horde time and again because people weren't guarding them, they were too busy standing on noob hill in front of the keep. We lost the Relief Hut countless times for the same reason. In battle after battle it looked like were were going to have a victory, we were capping the towers in FWK and had IBT & TP capping only to have someone take SHGY and get us all wiped out and sent back to Dun Baldar. This happened time and again. When I was in FWK guarding a tower or the RH I would just wait until the Herald announced "The Alliance has attacked Stonehearth Graveyeard", which marks the beginning of the end. No matter what anyone said people would take it. Then you have the quitters, the people who quit because someone did something after they said not to or just quit when the going gets bad. Good riddance I say, we don't need you.

There was one battle where everyone actually followed the plan, by everyone I mean over 90% of the people that were not AFK. We had A LOT of AFK in all the battles. You will not get all the people to follow any plan, maybe some people can't read, maybe some people think they can win solo in a 40x40 battleground so they follow their own plan, but 90% is a like a record for the Alliance. We won that one easily. If only we could have that kind of response in every battle.

Hopefully this was just a nightmare and the next time I am in there we will do better with people that can actually think, reason, and follow a plan.

The Battle for Wintergrasp 12/2/09

After a fierce battle we were able to take Wintergrasp Fortress from the Horde and secure it for the Alliance. Wintergrasp is another nice battleground, big with a lot going on. It takes a little while to ride from one end to the other to take care of what needs to be done. I fought it on Wranngar.

The Horde were in control of the Fortress when the battle started so we had to build siege equipment and start the process of breaking down the walls to get inside. We managed to keep one of our southern towers intact throughout the process, only losing 2. This was the 3rd day in the rotation so I got the quests again which meant another 40 Stone Keeper's Shards for me. The battle actually didn't take too long to win, we were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Afterwards I took the portal there back to Dalaran and resumed fighting in Alterac Valley.
