Daily Battleground - Alterac Valley 12/30/09

I fought in Alterac Valley on Wranngar today and the Alliance started off doing pretty well.

AV was my daily battleground today and we won the first one I was in. We won that one by 2 reinforcements. That is the closest battle in AV I have ever been in. It was close and touch and go right to the end. We also lost a battle by 3 reinforcements. We were ahead on that one but the Alliance have a way of screwing up. That should have been the sign that the quality of the group had changed but I fought in a few more anyway.

I fought in a total of 9 battles, 4 wins and 5 losses. We won the first 3 battles I was in, then lost a couple and won another one. Then we had 3 losses in a row and I decided to call it a day. Remember how I said the quality of players is different at different times of the day? Well, the quality of players went downhill and it was time to get out.

We did kill Drek 3 times with anywhere from 0 to 2 towers up. The Horde got most of their wins by killing Vann with most of their towers up. They didn't get to pull off a Blitz today but they came close once. We had a couple where they were waiting at Galv. Even when there are 20 Horde standing outside Galv in plain site the Alliance will blindly run right up there and get slaughtered. That really sets us back as they all rez in DB, way back at the start.

I only saw a few people doing the Gnome achievement but that will be over in a couple days thankfully. They can go back to PvE which they are hopefully better at than PvP.

I turned in my battleground daily for 19g86s, 1241 bonus honor and 25 arena points. I am starting to build up arena points but will probably save them until season 5 rolls out.

The Battle for Alterac Valley - 12/29/09

I know I said I wasn't going to fight in Alterac Valley again until after the new year but I was really bored leveling my Hunter and decided to see how things were going in there. I fought in 4 battles on Wranngar and from what I saw we are doing better. We had 2 wins and 2 losses.

The first battle I was in we won with maximum honor. The Horde had SHB and IWB capping but not capped. We kept taking them back from them. They attacked the North and South Bunkers in Dun Baldar a few times but we took those back too. We capped all 4 towers and had FWGY along with the Relief Hut. With all the towers down, FWGY in our control so the Horde couldn't keep rezzing and trying to wipe us when we did Drek, we went in and took Drek down. That was a good battle.

In the second battle there was someone saying not to go any farther than IBT. To cap IBT then hold everything north of that. They swore that works. I didn't think it would work but decided to see what happened. We were ahead about 100 resources after IBT capped and should have moved forward but that person was saying to just hang onto everything. The Horde eventually whittled down the lead with kills until we were only about 40 ahead. They were slowly working their way north too. The person that was saying to not go forward and just hold everything north of IBT never left DB. Finally I spoke up and said we were going to lose unless we moved forward and got at least one more tower. He said he had come into battles where they Horde were ahead by 200 reinforcements and we won. I said I believed it because that is just what the Horde were doing, slowly closing the gap on reinforcements for the win.

By the time people stopped listening to him and started moving forward it was too late, the Horde capped SHB, which took us down to about 45 reinforcements left to their 130, then they got into DB and started those towers capping. We lost when the North Bunker capped. Now I know for sure that strat doesn't work, at least not in a PUG.

We won the next one capping 3 of the 4 towers and taking Drek down but lost the last one when the Horde took Vann with 3 towers up. We were looking pretty good in the last one too until they did that. We had 2 towers capped and were waiting for the last 2 along with the RH to cap. We didn't have enough people in Frostwolf Keep to take Drek anyway even if we knew they were going to kill Vann with 3 towers up. So we won 50% of the battles I was in and that is a vast improvement over what the Alliance was doing in there lately. I am encouraged that things will get back to normal after the new year. One thing I did notice was there were no people in Gnome costumes in there and I think that made a big difference.

Eye of the Storm - Daily Battleground 12/29/09

Today my daily battleground was Eye of the Storm. I fought it on Wranngar and it took 4 battles to get a win.

The first 2 battles I was in the Alliance team was made up of Flagtards. Over half the group went right from the rock to the flag. I knew we were going to lose those 2 in the first minute of the battle. In the first one we got the flag right at the start but didn't have anywhere to take it as we had no towers. Maybe should have got some towers first... In the second battle it wasn't much better but we only held one tower and people seemed to be content to get the flag and run it to that, even though that is a slow loss.

In the third battle we had a better group and it looked like were were going to win. We were neck and neck until around 1300 then everyone went Flagtard for some reason. I don't know what it was, we had 3 towers on and off throughout the battle but were down to 2 at that point. Instead of getting another tower everyone tried to get the flag and we lost by about 150 points.

In the 4th battle I was leader and I stated right at the beginning that towers win EoS, not the flag. Get 3 towers, hold 3 towers, win. Go Flagtard, lose. For a change people listened. Maybe that is a lot of the problem, no direction. Anyway the plan was to get DR, BET and FRR which we did, then we got MT too. We held a 4 cap throughout the battle and ran the flag a few times. We won that one 1600 to 0. After the first 3 I was thinking I would never get my daily done.

I turned that in, and yes I remembered to turn it in, for 19g86s, 1241 bonus honor and 25 arena points.

Wintergrasp 12/29/09

I only got to fight in one battle for Wintergrasp on Wranngar tonight but it was a win and I got all 4 of the quests done. It has been a little while since I fought in Wintergrasp but things haven't changed much.

We started off the battle with everyone in the keep as usual (when we are in control) but as the battle progressed it became apparent that they were all going to stay in the keep which is a sure fire loss. Finally after I and some other people said something about getting out of the keep, getting some siege equipment, and getting to work on the towers did people start to come out and do something... It is unbelievable that people will just stay in the keep and let the Horde tear it down around them unless someone says something but that seems to be the case.

Eventually we got the southern and southeastern towers down, I don't think we even damaged the southwestern tower at all, and managed to get the closest workshops away from the Horde. That was the turning point, when the Horde couldn't build siege equipment right next to the keep, they had to take the time to drive them from the south and hope we didn't destroy them on the way, which we did. Finally we ran the clock out for the win but the Horde had the west wall down by that time so it was close.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 12/27/09

When I got on today and went to pick up my daily battleground I found that I forgot to hand my daily battleground in yesterday, so I couldn't grab a new one. I did fight in 2 battles for Alterac Valley on Wranngar though, both losses.

The Alliance is still doing really poorly in there, there is even less teamwork than usual and the Horde have been walking all over us. I think this will be the last time I fight in there this year, I will wait until after the new year and the With a Little Helper from My Friends achievement has ended before I go in there again. There are just too many people taking up spots that could be populated with people who actually know what they are doing. Or at least by people that know they are in a battleground and what that means.

In the 2 battles I was in everyone was warned to stay away from Galv, the Horde would be waiting there. Everyone was instructed to just go right to Drek and we would down him with towers up. No one bothered to check to see if we had a tank and heals capable of doing that but it didn't matter. Over half the team went to Galv, which had the majority of the Horde team waiting inside with him, and wiped. That caused a turtle and eventual loss.

In the first battle we took SHGY and drove the Horde back across the Field of Strife, then they drove us back. That went on and on but eventually the Horde managed to cap Stonehearth Bunker and the Dun Baldar North Bunker which lowered our reinforcements too much to overcome.

In the second battle we ended up turtling in Dun Baldar and eventually lost the Aid Station which had us rezzing in the cave. The Horde took their time capping towers and then killed Vann.

The play has been so poor the last couple weeks and I can only hope it is related to the achievement pulling so many unskilled people into this battleground. I think, I am hoping anyway, that this will end after the new year.

Alterac Valley - Daily Battleground 12/26/09

Today my daily battle was Alterac Valley which happens to be my favorite battleground. I did it on Wranngar and it took 7 battles to get a win which isn't too good. I did get a lot of kills though from the turtles.

The Alliance still isn't doing too well in there. I took a few days off from the battlegrounds because I was disgusted with all the people in there trying to do the stupid Gnome achievement, With a Little Helper from My Friends. For a lot of them it is the first time they have every been in a battleground and it really shows. They are only in there to get their 50 HK's for the achievement and don't care about winning. As a matter of fact they are happier when we turtle because they can just stand back and let other people farm their kills for them. They don't want to enter combat because if they die they lose their costume and don't get the kills towards the achievement. On the plus side they usually leave right after they die. It will be like this until after the new year when the achievement ends.

We had quite a few battles that started off way off balance, with the horde outnumbering us by 2 to 1 or more. By the time that balances out the battle has already been decided. The Horde are rushing Vann now, they are not waiting for towers to cap, because it is a pretty sure win for them. The Alliance can't work together as a team so they can't do that. The Horde aren't Blitzing every time like they were, they are taking their time so all of them can get there, but it doesn't matter when the Alliance is scattered everywhere doing their own thing.

I collected 19g86s, 1241 bonus honor and 25 arena points for completing my daily.

I am hoping it will go back to normal after the new year.

Strand of the Ancients - Daily Battleground 12/21/09

Strand of Ancients was my daily battleground today. I fought in 4 battles on Wranngar 3 losses and a draw which might as well be a loss when you are trying to do your daily. We just had some really bad groups. It wasn't a matter of the Horde dominating in there, they were not that good either, the groups I was in just sucked. I logged off Wranngar with the intention of logging back on later to complete it when I would be in a different group of people but never got back to it.

There was no teamwork, people were all over the place doing their own thing. I think they were farming kills or something. There was one guy that just rode back and forth on his chopper, he didn't get off it until I told everyone to report him AFK. I would say less than half the team knew what they were doing and were actually trying. It is too bad, this is a battleground we usually do well in, it usually takes me no more than 2 battles to complete my daily.

Alterac Valley - 12/21/09

I only got to fight in on Alterac Valley battle on Wranngar tonight, it was a loss.

There are still a lot of people in there doing the With a Little Helper from My Friends achievement and I will be cutting back on fighting in there until after the Holidays and they all clear out. Things should be back to normal after that with the Alliance winning most the time.

We had a typical battle, about half the team went straight to Frostwolf Keep and started FWGY, the East and West Towers capping along with the Relief Hut. The people that killed Drek started IBT and TP capping as well as IBGY. There were 5 or 6 Horde waiting in Galv to try and wipe us but it didn't work. I usually don't bother going right to Drek unless someone posts a game plan. If no one does that then there is no reason as everyone will be doing their own thing, not that posting a game plan really affects that. Of course the AFK we AFKing in the cave as usual, we reported them and had them kicked as usual.

After Galv I headed down to Frostwolf and we were doing pretty good, had the Relief Hut capped, the Towers were capping then someone capped SHGY... The Horde poured into FWK from their cave and wiped us out. This happens altogether too often, I guess people are never going to learn or think before they cap that graveyard. Before capping that you have to look at the map, everyone has access to the map, and see what we have capped, capping, and where the Horde are going to rez. If they are going to rez in the cave and we don't have at least east and west towers capped, don't do it. It's not rocket science but so many people can't seem to get it right.

After the capping of SHGY the Horde took FWK and moved on to take IBT and TP which caused a turtle. We naturally lost that as the Horde have the advantage in most turtles, unless we have a good group which we did not, because of the choke point at IWB. Instead of a win it turned into a half hour loss. I would like to think whoever capped SHGY learned something but I know they didn't and will do it again in the future.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 12/20/09

The battle for Alterac Valley rages on and I was right in there fighting for the Stormpike Guard. I fought in 25 battles on Wranngar today, 10 wins and 15 losses. Yeah, the Alliance is still not doing well in Alterac Valley. I blame this on the achievement everyone is trying to do. They come in, they don't want to do anything, least of all fight, they just want to get their 50 HK's and get out. And they do, you see the announcement they got the achievement then you see them leave the battleground... The number of people playing is in constant flux, people leaving and new people coming in throughout the battle.

I got my 100000 Honorable Kills on Wranngar, and my "of the Alliance" title, today so I think I will cut back on this battleground until after the Christmas Holiday and let all those people get their achievement done and get out of my battleground lol.

We didn't have any Blitz's today while the Horde had several. I see a lot of Horde dressed in the Gnome costumes for the achievement but they are fighting. We had the usual problems, people not working together, people taking the wrong graveyards at the wrong time, people not guarding things, the list goes on and on.

We did have some really good battles however. There were a few where the Horde decided to all pile into Galv and try to wipe us out, this caused a turtle. That turned out not to be a good idea for them most times as we had about half the team at FWK capping towers while they were doing that. In a few of the battles we managed to hang onto the east and west towers until they capped. The people that got wiped out at Galv took SHGY and we kept the Horde from capping any of our towers. We didn't get any more towers but we were able to win on reinforcements just by killing Horde.

Wranngar of the Alliance - 100,000 Honorable Kills

I finally passed the 100,000 honorable kills mark on Wranngar tonight. I got the achievement 100000 Honorable Kills and my title "of the Alliance". Naturally I was fighting in Alterac Valley when this happened. We lost that one but I didn't care, it was the turtle that got me the final kills I needed. About 180 HK's in that battle.

I am not sure what I am going to do now. I know I need to work on my Deathknight and Hunter. As far as Wranngar goes, I guess I am shooting for 250,000 honorable kills now.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 12/19/09

The battle for Alterac Valley rages on and the Alliance still aren't doing really well in there. I fought in 28 battles on Wranngar, 11 wins and 17 losses. We are still having the same old problems, people doing the Gnome achievement, people not working together, a lot of AFK, and overall lack of experience.

The Horde were Blitzing like crazy, they know how to work together and can pull it off. The Alliance tried a few times but they can't work together and all it resulted in was a wipe at Drek. There was the usual stupidity too, we were in Frostwolf Keep waiting for the towers and relief hut to cap when the Horde just poured in, at least 3/4 of the team. As there were only about a dozen of us there they ran right through us. I looked at the map and saw someone took SHGY causing the Horde to rez in their cave. I keep telling people, before you even think about taking SHGY, look at the map and see where the Horde will rez without it. If it is the relief hut or their cave, don't do it. People either don't listen, have a very short memory, or don't learn from their mistakes.

Another major problem we have is people standing on noob hill. That is the hill right in front of the entrance to Drek's lair. In one battle today, we had at least a half dozen people standing on noob hill and the east and west towers weren't capped... When the towers actually get started capping the people jump down, leaving them unguarded, and go stand on noob hill. The horde come in every single time and recap them back. It usually takes 3 or 4 caps to get them to burn. People don't learn from that mistake either, they do it battle after battle. This is what makes me think the Alliance is made up mostly of children with ADHD.

On the plus side I am less than 750 kills away from my title.

Battle for Strand of the Ancients - Daily Battleground 12/18/09

Today the daily battleground was Strand of the Ancients and as usual it took 2 to get a win. I fought them on Wranngar.

The first battle started off really unbalanced, it was 6 Alliance against 15 Horde. Basically they were waiting for us when we got off the boat, killed us, and then farmed kills at the only graveyard. When I got in it said the battle was going to end in 4 minutes because there were not enough players, then it said it was going to end in 5 minutes, then it went back to 4 minutes.... Anyway by the time we had enough people to fight our way out of the graveyard we had less than 2 minutes to complete our objective. Needless to say we didn't. A lot of the battlegrounds I fight in start off very unbalanced in the Horde's favor, I believe this is something Blizzard does intentionally so the Horde can win once in awhile. 3 or 4 to one is perfect odds for the Horde, they can actually kill someone that way. The funny thing about that first battle is it ended in a draw. Neither side was able to capture the Titan Portal. Doesn't say a lot for the Horde does it?

In the second battle we started off 15 to 15 so we naturally owned the battleground. We were able to get all the way to the Titan Relic and capture the Portal with ease. When it was the Horde's turn they didn't even get through the yellow gate which is the gate to the courtyard where the door to the Relic is.

That completed my daily which I turned in for 19g86s, 1241 bonus honor and 25 arena points.

Alterac Valley 12/18/09

Today was another pretty sad day for the Alliance in Alterac Valley. I don't know what people are thinking, but they obviously are not thinking about winning in AV.

The day started off bad, one loss after another, then got good for a little while when I got in with a good group. We were Blitzing. We had 13 Blitz's/wins in a row. We had a good tank and good heals and all just rushed to Drek and killed him with 4 Warmasters up. We must have been up against the same group in all of them for the most part because in the last few they had people in defending Drek. It didn't matter, we killed them too.

There was a lot of Whining during the Blitz's from the PvE'rs that just want to get their 50 kills wearing the stupid Gnome outfit but they just had to deal with it. Eventually we got thinned out enough so the PvE'rs just did their own thing and went to Galv. They were massacred, as we said they would be when we said Galv was a trap, but that was enough to cause the Blitz to fail. I will be so happy when Christmas is over in there and this stupid achievement goes away.

After that I fought in a few battles that went right back to fail. People didn't have a clue and the only one's that were happy were the PvE'rs getting their 50 kills until they died and lost their costume, then they left, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

The Battle for Alterac Valley 12/17/09

A pretty sad day for the Alliance in Alterac Valley today. I fought in 26 battles on Wranngar, 9 wins and 17 losses. It was some of the worst playing I have seen in a while. The Alliance just couldn't get it together. Of course all the PvE people in there trying to do the stupid Gnome achievement didn't help either. They don't do anything, they don't want to enter into combat because they might die and lose their costume. They leave as soon as they die. The Druids won't shape shift so they are useless. I will be happy when this is over and things can get back to normal. Having the Gnome achievers in there makes a holiday weekend look good...

All in all there was just poor playing today. The people wanting to do the achievement wanted to turtle so they could get their 50 hk's and most of them did, most of them never made it farther than Dun Baldar. They wanted everyone to turtle with them, or defend Balinda, so they could get them fast and get out. More than a few of them got AFK'd out.

We tried to Blitz a few times but when 1/3 of your team is in there for the achievement, 1/3 are Galv tards and 5 or 6 never even leave the cave we didn't stand a chance. From everyone in the cave saying "straight to Drek" to actually having 5 or 6 people make it to Drek it was obvious we weren't going to Blitz. The Horde got a couple Blitz's in though. Then again the Horde know how to work together.

I am not getting many kills lately, they took a nosedive as soon as this stupid achievement became available and they probably won't pick up again until it is over. Hopefully it will end no later than Christmas day.

Isle of Conquest - Daily Battleground 12/17/09

Today my daily battleground was Isle of Conquest. I fought in a total of 3 on Wranngar, we lost 2 and won 1.

We started every battle off outnumbered by the Horde, time to hit the forums and suggest they put Tenacity in all battlegrounds going to the side with the least players and see what happens. Nothing I'm sure, it is no secret Blizzard favors the Horde.

In the first 2 battles the lack of Alliance players at the start combined with lack of cooperation caused the loss although we were in the Horde keep and working on killing their General when the Horde killed ours in the second battle. In the first battle we didn't even get inside. In the first battle we had half the Alliance team standing outside the Horde keep when there wasn't even any siege equipment there. I had to double check and make sure it wasn't IoC's holiday weekend lol.

In the last battle we worked together pretty well as a team and got the West Gate down. We piled in and went after the Horde General. We DPS'd him down pretty quick for the win, he's a cupcake compared to Drek in Alterac Valley.

I turned that in and collected my 19g86s, 1241 bonus honor and 25 arena points.

The Battle for Alterac Valley - Back on Track 12/16/09

The battle for Alterac Valley rages on and I fought in 22 tonight on Wranngar. We had 15 wins and 7 losses.

The Alliance was doing better in there tonight but there are still the people who are only in there to do the stupid Gnome achievement. They don't want to fight for fear of losing their costume and leave as soon as they die. Too bad they don't all die right out of the gate so we can get people in there who actually want to win. If I hear turtle for the achievement or defend Balinda for the achievement one more time I will puke.

We had a Blitz tonight and the Horde had one too. We tried to do more but you would be surprised how many of the Alliance can't follow a simple plan, everyone to Drek, stop for nothing. It is sad but true. My kills have really fallen off lately, not because I am fighting in there more, because people just don't want to fight, they want to get their achievement done...

The Battle for Wintergrasp 12/16/09

The battle for Wintergrasp rages on every few hours and I hit it when I am not in another battleground when it starts. Today that was only once. We were defending the keep and hung onto it for a victory.

I got the quests today and got all those done which gave me enough Stone Keeper's Shards to get the Reins of the Black War Mammoth. I wasn't sure what I was going to spend them on but figured I could do worse than that. It cost me 300 Stone Keeper's Shards so it pretty much wiped me out, but I will always get more shards going forward. This is a pretty nice battleground to fight in and I really like the siege equipment and the way the building destruct as damage is done to them.

The Battle for Arathi Basin - Daily Battleground 12/16/09

Today my daily battleground was Arathi Basin. This is another battleground the Alliance used to do real well in and now are lucky to get out of with less than a Horde 5 cap.

I blame a lot of the problems in the battlegrounds on the achievements although there are more and more people in the battlegrounds that seem to have no clue what they are doing. Probably in there for the achievements... People are more worried about getting their achievements done than they are in winning. That is why you have people starting a cap and riding away, they are working on their achievements. At least I hope that's what it is an they are not just so stupid that is the best they can do.

I fought in 3 battles on Wranngar, 2 losses and, finally, a win.

It was the same old story in there, people not defending nodes, people going off in ones and twos to try and cap another node, people fighting in the roads instead of anywhere where it matters, it is sad the Alliance went from doing so good in there to doing so bad. In every battle I was in we had at least 3 nodes at one time, and the battleground leader and others were calling out to just defend what we had, but no one listens and we lost the nodes due to no defense.

I finally got this daily done and hope I don't see if again for awhile. It is AB's holiday weekend this weekend and if it comes up during that I am not even going to take it. I turned this in for 19g86s, 1241 bonus honor and 25 arena points.

The Battle for Alterac Valley - Not the best of days for the Alliance 12/15/09

I fought in 27 battles for Alterac Valley tonight on Wranngar, 14 wins and 13 losses. It was not the best day for the Alliance in there today.

I hate battleground achievements, they really screw up the battleground. The one everyone is working on now is With a Little Helper from My Friends. This is where you use a machine, located outside most cities, and in the middle of Dalaran, to transform yourself into a Gnome Santa's Helper. If you are a Druid and you shape shift it removes it. The objective of this achievement is to get 50 honorable kills while wearing it. If you die it removes it. Well, everyone wants to turtle so they can get their 50 kills. No one wants to enter into combat and take a chance on dying and having it removed. Druids will not shape shift to fight so they are useless. I personally will not do this one. I will not go into any battleground and stand around while everyone else is fighting. I do the transformation but it gets removed as soon as I go into combat because I shift into cat form.

We had a few battles but no turtles so I didn't get a lot of kills tonight, I only got around 350. That did put me over 96,000 though so I should have my title in the next 4 or 5 days. We did The Alterac Blitz twice tonight and the Horde did it twice. The Horde are killing Vann now without waiting for towers even when they are not doing the Blitz so we lost a lot that way. Some people just will not try Drek with the towers up, they say there is not enough honor. I am not there for honor so I don't care about that, I like to win. Even though I am only in there for kills I fight every battle to win. When everyone is turtled in DB I am stealthing out and trying to get towers, I always get the Coldtooth Mine when we are turtling and I keep capping it when the Horde caps it back. I am also trying to get forward GY's so we can advance.

These people complain about a 35 minute battle. They should have been there in the old days when there were no reinforcements and the only way you won was by killing the opponents General, those battles could last for days. I have been in 4-5 hour AV's myself where you could get a few thousand kills. I hear people talk about battles that lasted for days. Those were the good old days and I wish they were back but so many people complained, they put in the reinforcements. Now a 40 minute battle is long.

Warsong Gulch - Daily Battleground 12/15/09

Warsong Gulch was my daily battleground today. I fought in 5 battles on Wranngar, all losses. The Alliance truly have no clue whatsoever how to fight in WSG, it is sad...

We lost 4 of the battles horribly, 3 of them we never even capped a flag, everyone was too busy fighting in the middle which accomplishes nothing. The last one was close for a little while. I tried to run the flag in all of them, but there was no flag support in the first 4 so I never even made it into our base with the Horde flag. In one of those battles I was telling people there were 5 defending the Horde flag in their flag room, I needed some help. Everyone was fighting in the middle and no one wanted to come into the flag room and help clear it out. I had a total of 6 returns in the 5 battles I was in but it did no good, no one else was doing anything so it was all for nothing.

In the last battle I was in there were 3 of us who knew what we were doing. Me, a Hunter and a Priest. I capped the flag 2 times and had 2 returns in that one. A couple other people had returns. But when we had 2 flags capped, the Horde had none, the Horde decided it was time to get serious and the three of us could no longer carry the whole group. The Horde ended up winning that one with a 3 cap.

The leader of that battle was telling the Hunter that was supporting me when I was carrying the flag, when he called the other players retards that had no clue what they were doing, that he wasn't pulling his weight because he had 8 deaths and 0 kills. The BG leader had 7 killing blows he was bragging about. Obviously the BG leader had no clue because WSG is not about kills, it is about capping the Horde flag and defending our flag. The BG leader had no caps and no returns. I would say he was the one that failed in that battle. I guess I wasn't pulling my weight in that one either, I had 0 killing blows, 6 deaths, 2 caps and 2 returns. Maybe I just don't know how to fight in WSG after all... I hate fighting in WSG and that is why. I did a post earlier about fighting to win in WSG, you can read it here.

I might try to complete this tomorrow but with any luck I will get on after the daily's roll over and I can drop it.

How to Fight to Win in Warsong Gulch

I am posting this because it has become more and more obvious that Alliance have no clue how to fight in WSG. It is actually very simple to win in WSG if you have a clue what you are doing. Unfortunately most people do not have a clue what they are doing...

Lets go over the objectives first. The main objective in WSG is to capture the enemy flag while keeping the enemy from capturing your flag. This is not done by fighting in the middle. This is not done by giving your flag carrier no support. Your flag carrier should not be on their own, they should have at least one healer and one DPS supporting them the entire time they have the flag. When the enemy has your flag everyone that is not supporting the flag carrier should be trying to get it back. This is not done by fighting in the middle unless the enemy flag carrier is in the middle, then you fight the flag carrier.

Is anyone starting to see the common theme here? NOTHING is accomplished by fighting in the middle unless your flag is there, and support your flag carrier.

The most common places for the enemy to take your flag for safekeeping, when you also have their flag, is their roof, their graveyard or their flag room. Note: None of those places are located in the middle. Those are the places you should be when the enemy has your flag, not in the middle.

Ok, let's recap:

Objective 1: Capture enemy flag. Hint: It is not located in the middle.

Objective 2: Support your flag carrier. They should have at least one healer and one DPS supporting them the entire time they have the flag.

Objective 3: Do not let the enemy capture your flag. Your flag is that thing leaving a blue (or red if Horde) streak across the field, get it back. To get your flag back, kill whoever has it then right click on your flag while it is standing there, this will return it to your base.

Objective 4: DO NOT fight in the middle, this accomplishes nothing. The only person you should be fighting with in the middle is the enemy flag carrier. If the enemy flag carrier is not in the middle you shouldn't be either.

In battle after battle, that I have had the misfortune of being in, (I only fight in WSG when it is my daily battleground) we have lost because everyone is fighting in the middle. The enemy flag carrier can run right past them, they pay no attention to them, they are too busy fighting in the middle...

This is not rocket science yet so many people can not get it right...
